New Hartford Phoenix Jailed

New Hartford, NY (WIBX) – A New Hartford man is in jail after allegedly holding his girlfriend down and trying to stop her from breathing.
29-Year old Anthony Phoenix apparently became enraged and combative with his live-in girlfriend. When she tried to yell for help she says that he held her down and covered her mouth and nose.
Things eventually quieted down but she called police as soon as she was able to find the phone.
New Hartford Police say Phoenix is being charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and harassment.
