New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - The New Hartford Police Department responded to a one car motor vehicle crash that occurred in the parking lot of the Nice and Easy on French Road, which subsequently lead to the arrest of the operator for multiple drug related and traffic charges.

Police responded and located 22-year old William Hall in the driver's seat of the vehicle. During the investigation of the motor vehicle crash, it was determined that Hall was driving his vehicle westbound on Burrstone Road in the eastbound lane. Hall's vehicle then crossed through the intersection of Burrstone Road and French Road and proceeded into the Nice and Easy parking lot, striking a parked vehicle.

The force of the collision caused extensive damage to the front off Hall's vehicle, he was transported to St. Luke's Hospital via ambulance for injuries sustained in the crash.  The investigation also revealed that at the time of the crash, Hall was under the influence of heroin. He was also found to be in possession of heroin and a hypodermic needle.

Hall was placed under arrest for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, all misdemeanors.

In addition to the drug charges, he was charged with Vehicle and Traffic misdemeanors charges of Driving While Registration Suspended for Insurance Lapse, Failure to Turn in Suspended Registration and Providing an Invalid Insurance Card.

Hall was also ticketed for Vehicle Infractions for Operating Without Insurance, Failing to Keep Right, Improper Left Turn and Moving From Lane Unsafely. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of new Hartford Court at a later date.
