New Hartford Teen Facing Weapons Charges

A New Hartford teen is facing weapons charges following a traffic stop on Arthur Street.

Utica Police pulled over a vehicle at around 12:45 Monday morning matching the description of a vehicle suspected in a hit and run accident.

While talking to the driver, officers smelled the odor of burned marijuana and removed all of the occupants from the vehicle.

They say a passenger in the back seat allegedly had a loaded handgun in his waistband.

19-year old Michael Colcord was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of criminal possession of a firearm.
