A three and-a-half month long investigation by the New Hartford Police Department has led to the arrest of a New Hartford woman on grand larceny charges.

Police say 50-year old Donna Houseman allegedly stole over $116,000 from the Hampton Inn & Suites, where she served as General Manager.

It happened over a two-year period from January 2013 to October 2014.

Police say Houseman stole over $87,000 in unauthorized reimbursements by issuing herself “Petty Cash” and “Donna Houseman” vendor checks drawn upon the hotel’s bank account.  She also allegedly used the Hampton Inn's corporate Lowes credit card for her own personal use.

Houseman is also accused of stealing nearly $14,000 from the hotel’s bank account after making three payments to her personal credit card for non-hotel expenses.

The case will now be sent to county court for Grand Jury consideration.

The investigation is ongoing and police say additional charges may be filed.
