Utica Comets forward Mike Zalewski has inked his first two-way deal with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks.

The 23-year-old New Hartford native's agreement replaces his AHL-only contract, team officials said. He's been subsequently called-up to the parent club and will be with the team Thursday night when they visit the Bruins in Boston.

Meanwhile, the Comets are preparing to play North of the boarder this weekend. They'll play a pair of afternoon contests with the Toronto Marlies on both Saturday and Sunday (3:00 ET).
