New Hotel For Harbor Point In Utica

Another new development is coming to Utica's Harbor Point area.

Mayor Robert Palmieri announced Monday that a new Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott will be built next to Nicky Doodles on North Genesee Street.

Palmieri says the project is another sign that the city is making an economic comeback.

Construction on the 79-room hotel is expected to completed by next year.

The hotel is the third hotel in the area for Visions Hotels, which also built the Hampton Inn and the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites.

Palmieri says you can expect more economic development announcements in the coming weeks.
