Utica's Municipal Housing Authority is proposing plans to develop affordable housing in the Cornhill area.

Mayor Robert Palmieri says the housing redevelopment project will be made up of about 52 units on the site of the former Roosevelt School and other locations in Cornhill.

The initiative will be known as Roosevelt Park.

Palmieri says the primary market for the residential units will be working families and senior citizens.

The total redevelopment project will cost between $13.2 and $13.7 million.

Palmieri says the majority of the funding will be generated through the sale of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to a private tax credit investor.
