A new notification system is now available to the public to alert them anytime water levels change at the Hinckley Reservoir.

Senator Joseph Griffo says the State Canal Corporation informed him on Monday that their existing "Notification to Mariners" system is now available on-line for the public to sign up to receive either e-mail of text alerts.

The public can now sign up for the free service through the Canal Corp's website

The alerts will also be published on the Canal Corp's Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Earlier this summer, Griffo had urged the Canal Corp to develop such a notification system after he was contacted constituents who were concerned that water levels at the reservoir had appeared to drop more significantly than normal.
