Utica is quite proud of the fact that it's home to the fourth oldest family brewery in the United States; the F.X. Matt Brewery began brewing in Utica in 1888. Not far to the east, Rhode Island has a similar claim to fame, the Narragansett Brewing Company which began brewing its beer in 1890. If you've spent any time in Rhode Island, you know that in addition to Narragansett Beer, another beverage that's quite possibly even more famous is Del's Lemonade.  Del's was launched in Cranston, RI in 1948 with a recipe brought to

America from Italy by founder Angelo DeLucia, who began distributing the frozen lemonade in trucks around the state.  Today, Del's has locations and mobile trucks in some 20 states and now the New England staple has teamed up with their elder adult brewer, Narragansett, to create a 'refreshingly different' Shandy, which is being distributed throughout the Northeast. A Shandy by definition is a combination of beer and lemonade.
