New Surgical Center Coming To South Utica

The former Grossman's site on French Road in South Utica will be the home of a new outpatient surgical center.

A groundbreaking was held today for the Omni Surgical Center. Dr. Nameer Haider, who has an office on Genesee Street, will treat patients at both facilities

Mayor Robert Palmieri says like the former Bossert's site in West Utca, it's another vacant property that's been talked about for years. He says the site has been vacant for nearly ten years.

Palmieri says the project consists of a $6 million private sector investment and will create 20 new jobs.

The center is expected to open by October.
