The New York State Department of Transportation has installed a new traffic signal on Burrstone Road and the future Lincoln Avenue extension.

The new signal will be activated in a yellow flashing mode tomorrow and will be go to a full three-color operation at the intersection in about a week.

Utica Police say motorists should be aware of the addition of the new traffic control device on Burrstone Road and be prepared to stop once the signal begins three-color operation.

When the new signal is activated, the existing ramps on the north side of Burrstone Road servicing Route 12 will be permanently closed.
