Albany, NY (WIBX) - New York's highest court will not hear a challenge to the state's same-sex marriage law.

The state Court of Appeals has denied a request by New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms to appeal an earlier court's ruling that lawmakers did not violate open-meeting laws when they passed same-sex marriage legislation last year.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has hailed the decision, saying "same-sex couples no longer have to worry that their right to marry could be legally challenged in this state."
