Entrepreneurs in central New York will have the chance to commercialize technologies developed by the Air Force Research Lab in Rome as part of New York Furnace.

New York Furnace is a start up accelerator that brings new technologies out of the research lab and into the marketplace.

National Grid has committed $200,000 in funding to help launch the program.

Several other groups, including the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, NBT Bank  and Mohawk Valley EDGE, will provide an additional $200,000 to help launch the program.

Potential participants must go through a competitive process.

The application deadline is November 17th
