New York State saw a nine-percent increase in honey production in 2015.

That maintains New York's status as the top honey producer in the Northeast and puts the state in the nationwide Top Ten for the first time in a decade.

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets says New York beekeepers earned almost $10.6 million from their honey last year.  That's a $1.2 million increase from the year before.

New York ranked 10th in honey production in 2015, jumping three spots over Idaho, Georgia and Nebraska.
