Guilderland, NY (WIBX) - New York State Police are putting out an all-points bulletin for a woman who handed a Trooper a very generous gift, one that he cannot accept.

According to a statement from the State Police, Trooper Christopher Maniscalco was on duty over the weekend when a woman walked up to him asking if he was busy.  He said that he had a few moments and she then told him, "Trooper, I always see you around, doing a (good) job and wanted to say 'Merry Christmas' and thank you."  She handed him a holiday card.  The trooper thanked the woman and returned to his call.

He put the card away and returned to his call.  He forgot about the card until after his shift and when he opened it he discovered a note along with one thousand dollars in cash.

Police are now looking for the woman because they cannot accept her generous gift, and would like to know to which charity they should donate on her behalf.

She is about five feet eight inches tall, in her early to mid forties with blonde hair.  She was driving a blue/gray minivan.

Anyone with information on her identity is being asked to call State Police in Latham at: (518) 783.3211.
