New York Unemployment Rate Falls In December
New York’s unemployment rate is at its lowest level since January of 2009.
That’s according to preliminary figures released by the New York State Department of Labor.
The jobless rate fell to 7.1% in December, down from 7.4% in November.
During December, the state added 10,400 private sector jobs.
The Utica-Rome area had one of the top five job private sector job growth rates over the past year.
