New Yorkers Love Their Pets

Is your pet your best friend?

A Siena Research Institute survey found that 88% of New York pet owners speak to their pet as if it were human.

Studies show that pets take it easy in New York; 75% of New York pet owners allow their pet on the furniture, including the couch, and 29% cook special food or meals for them.

They say dogs are loyal, but so are pet owners. 34% of owners spend at least $1,000 a year on their pet.
