The Great New York State Fair is still more than four months away, but planners have already chosen this year's theme.

State Agriculture Commissioner, Darrel Aubertine, says voters had ten possible options, but chose "Sharing the Bounty and Pride of New York" as the final theme.

The choice highlight's the state's important role as an agricultural industry and was submitted by Kathy Denman, from Syracuse.

Aubertine says the goal is "to get more New Yorkers involved in this Fair - not only during the 12 day extravaganza, but throughout the year."

This year's Fair runs from August 22nd through September 2nd.
