Jason Kidd has made headlines in New York for recently signing a three year contract with the Knicks but made the papers this weeked for all the wrong reasons.

Police in Southampton say they responded to an accident scene at around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning and found Kidd behind the wheel of a 2010 Cadillac Escalade that had driven off the road into a wooded area, crashing into and snapping a telephone pole, according to Newsday.

The report says Kidd refused blood and chemical tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI.

The Newsday article reads...'Kidd "smelled heavily of an alcoholic beverage," was "very unsteady on his feet" and "did not know what happened" in the immediate aftermath of his alleged drunken driving accident early Sunday in Water Mill, according to a police report.'

Earlier on Saturday night, Kidd had attended a benefit event for movie director George Lucas, the report says.
