Authorities Say Music Company Fronted Cocaine In NY

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Federal, state and local authorities say they have charged a dozen people with trafficking cocaine in the Hudson Valley and central New York, accusing them of using a music company as a front.

Federal prosecutors say "Outta They League" produced music but in recent years primarily has fronted for owner Malcolm Kinyon's wholesale cocaine transactions with more than $1 million passing through its account over three years.

Kinyon was charged previously and pleaded not guilty. His attorney Eric Siegle declined further comment Thursday.

Authorities allege the group distributed kilograms of cocaine in and around Poughkeepsie (poh-KIHP'-see) and beyond, with 11 defendants getting quantities on consignment and reselling it.

Arrests were coordinated with an investigation targeting Bloods gang members in and around Kingston, with 31 people charged in narcotics indictments unsealed Thursday.
