Utica Man Charged With Assaulting His Wife

A Utica man is facing numerous charges for allegedly assaulting his wife.

32-year old Erving Gary is charged with criminal contempt, criminal mischief, harassment and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Utica Police say Gary went to his wife's house in violation of a court order of protection, grabbed her by the arm and threw her into a wall during an argument.

The 32-year old victim sustained a shoulder injury during the incident.

Police say more charges may be pending.

At the time of his arrest, Gary allegedly possessed a smoking device with "crack" cocaine residue inside.
