U.S. Senate Approves John Kerry As New Secretary Of State
Massachusetts senator and 2004 presidential candidate John Kerry has been confirmed as Secretary of State.
In a 94 to 3 vote, Kerry was selected to replace Hillary Clinton, who served four years in the position.
The 69 year-old Democrat has been in the Senate since 1985 and is a decorated Vietnam War veteran.
According to NPR, an interim senator to replace Kerry will be announced on Wednesday.
