NHPD: 17 Cases Closed With 1 Arrest
New Hartford, NY (WIBX) – A Utica teen faces a slew of charges relating to local vehicle break-ins and a stolen car. New Hartford police say 17-year-old John Brinkley has admitted to breaking-in to 11 cars in New Hartford, stealing GPS systems, satellite radio’s, I-POD’s and loose change.
Brinkley has also admitted to driving a stolen car in New Hartford on November 7th, according to police. Brinkley fled from the officer. Two 16-year-olds were located and charged after that incident. Police say they were passengers in the stolen vehicle.
Brinkley is also suspected of stealing from JC Penny.
He faces felony charges of criminal possession of stolen property and criminal mischief, along with a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny.
New Hartford police say their investigation of Brinkley solved 17 open investigations.
