Utica, NY (WIBX) - A local non-profit group is giving away a limited number of turkey's and ham for families in need this holiday season. Susan Woods, Vice President for The Neighborhood Association says it's a delight to be able to provide the items to members of the community. "Today, the NIA organization is delighted to be able to provide ham's and turkey's and all the fixings to needy families in the Central Utica area. The organization has been working and collaborating with Walmart and other retailers to provide these items to the community, and we're delighted to be able to do so," she said.

Families who could use a ham or turkey for the holiday, are encouraged to be at the group's new headquarters located on 7 Rutger Park at 3:00 this afternoon for the giveaway. The building is located on the corner of Rutger Street and Seymour Avenue in Utica. Organizers say the items will be distributed at a first come first served basis.
