The cheerleaders for the Buffalo Bills are being replaced by a drum line, according to The Buffalo News.

As evidenced at this past weekend's game against the Miami Dolphins, the Buffalo Jills are officially gone from the games.  In their place instead is The Stampede, a twenty-member percussion group.

The Jills suspended operations in April after a lawsuit arose alleging that cheerleaders worked several events without pay and were the subject of harassment by players and management.  According to an ESPN story posted on April 24, 2014, "The lawsuit, filed in state Supreme Court, says the cheerleaders worked hundreds of hours for free at games and were subjected to groping and sexual comments at mandatory public appearance. One said they had to take a jiggle test so their boss could see how firm their bodies were."

That lawsuit is still pending as a judge denied a motion to dismiss the lawsuit in July.

In the meantime, The Stampede, which consists of both male and female members, was chosen to replace the cheerleaders indefinitely.

The Stampede will be seated in the grandstand during games.
