NUAIR Alliance and Griffiss International Airport are announcing a new partnership with the Northern Michigan Unmanned Aerial Systems Consortium.

The agreement between the two organizations will allow them to cooperate in developing and operating unmanned aerial systems in the Northeast.

Officials say adding Michigan to the two-state alliance of New York and Massachusetts will help add new test sites, and create new joint opportunities for all three states.

"This new partnership with NMUASC builds on the Alliance's current capabilities and helps to better position the consortium for the future commercial market," said NUAIR Alliance Executive Director Lawrence Brinker. "This new partnership has the potential to advance the research and development of new technologies and processes. We look forward to working with NMUASC and paving the way for additional test flights in the coming months."
