NY AG: $100K Lunch Break Wage Settlement With Delivery Firm

NEW YORK (AP) — New York's attorney general has reached a $100,000 wage settlement with a delivery contractor for Amazon in New York City he says underpaid workers who didn't get lunch breaks.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says Friday the settlement requires delivery contractor Cornucopia Logistics to pay more than a hundred workers whose wages were deducted for lunch breaks they never received because of back-to-back deliveries. Investigators also found Cornucopia routinely failed to properly compensate workers for call-in pay.

Schneiderman says Cornucopia delivers Amazon.com packages and food from Amazon Fresh to residential and commercial customers in New York City.

Cornucopia did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Cornucopia did not admit to wrongdoing in the settlement, which bars the city-based company from retaliating against employees who cooperated with the investigation.
