DOVER PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — It's been nearly three decades since a 23-year-old man was reported missing from a Hudson Valley psychiatric center, and authorities still haven't stopped looking.

Louis Reyes, of Dover Plains, New York, disappeared in November 1989 from the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center east of Poughkeepsie. He was being treated there on a voluntary basis for a mental disability.

Reyes was last seen wearing a blue or gray sweat shirt and jeans. At the time of his disappearance, he was approximately 5-foot-6 and weighed 152 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He'd be 51 today.

State police have searched in both New York City and Connecticut and are still seeking the public's assistance to help solve the case.
