ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A losing bidder for a New York casino license says Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is investigating the state's selection process.

Tioga Downs owner Jeff Gural said Monday that he met last week with a representative from Schneiderman's office.

Gural's bid was among several rejected in December by a state board that picked three winning projects.

A law firm advising the board had previous relationships with the winning developers. The developers disclosed the connections in their applications to the board, however, and the firm also had ties to losing bidders.

Gural says he doesn't believe laws were broken.

A Gaming Commission spokesman says Schneiderman has not contacted the agency. Messages left with Schneiderman's office and the law firm weren't initially returned.

The investigation was first reported by Crain's New York Business.
