NY Couple Left 2-Year-Old In Car As They Robbed Home

CRAWFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Police say they've charged a couple who robbed an upstate New York home while they had a 2-year-old child with them.

Authorities say a 38-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman broke into a home in Crawford in northern Orange County on Saturday morning. Police say the pair then assaulted a man inside of the house and stole some property.

Investigators say the man and the woman left her 2-year-old child waiting in an SUV during the home invasion.

Police say both suspects were arrested on several charges, including burglary, assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Both have been released from the county jail.

Police say the child is in now in the care of the county's Child Protective Services.
