NY High School Senior Killed, Another Injured In 1-Car Crash

LA GRANGE, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a 17-year-old high school senior is dead and another is in critical condition after their car crashed on a Hudson Valley road.

Troopers say Dillon Colon, of Poughkeepsie, was driving on Todd Hill Road in the Dutchess County town of La Grange around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when his car went off the roadway and hit a tree.

Colon and his passenger, 17-year-old Ryan Mucci, also of Poughkeepsie, were taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Troopers say Mucci died of his injuries Thursday.

Colon remains in critical condition.

Troopers say speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash, but the cause is still being investigated.

Counselors are being made available for students at Arlington High School during school hours.
