A new monument is coming to the New York State Fair fairgrounds. The War Dogs Memorial will be unveiled during the Armed Forces Day ceremony on September 3rd.

This memorial will honor military working dogs and service dogs that have helped our troops and veterans. This memorial will also serve as a special reminder of the thousands who have been killed in action.

According to CNY Central, the memorial will be a marble memorial with an image of a combat veteran and a dog.

A plaque says the monument is dedicated to military dogs and handlers who "gallantly served in war and peace.""

Remember to check it out at the fair on September 3rd. Also, Armed Forces Day will offer free admission to the fair to any active duty or veteran with military identification.
