LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (AP) — New York state regulators have given their approval for a business to offer tiki boat tours on a popular Adirondack lake.

The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports (http://bit.ly/2rzw57J ) the Lake George Park Commission on Tuesday voted to allow Tiki Tours to take visitors out on two tiki boats this summer.

The 15-foot-by-15-foot boats resemble a floating tiki bar, with a thatched roof and bar stools. Built with 20 55-gallon drums underneath, the powered boats can accommodate six passengers, a captain and a deckhand.

Each tiki boat has a portable toilet with a privacy shield. The vessels have passed U.S. Coast Guard safety inspections.

Tiki Tours will operate out of the Lake George Beach Club in the village of Lake George, a popular summertime tourist destination 55 miles (88 kilometers) north of Albany.
