CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. (AP) — A New York school is the proud owner of a floating classroom.

The Post-Star says Cambridge Central School teacher Steve Butz has used a grant application to obtain a 20-foot pontoon boat for environmental studies.

His students have been conducting a long-term project at a nearby lake.

They perform real scientific research and earn college credits while still in high school.

They're required to take a boating safety course before participating.
