CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (AP) — It's been 15 years since the owner of a 1987 Volkswagen bus disappeared while camping at an upstate New York state park, and state police still haven't closed the case.

Troopers were called to Hamlin Beach State Park on Lake Ontario in late September 2003 to follow up on a report of suspicious vehicle at the facility just north of Rochester. A park worker said the owner of the vehicle was camping, failed to check out, and left the vehicle at the site.

Authorities identified the vehicle's owner as Dean Lewis, who was traveling alone around the country and staying at state parks. He was last seen Sept. 25, 2003. His family says he contacted them occasionally.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at (585)-398-4100.
