NEW YORK (AP) — Two New York City police officers are being credited with saving the life of an unconscious infant at a Brooklyn bank.

The officers responded to the Bank of American branch in downtown Brooklyn around 2:30 p.m. Thursday to a baby not breathing.

Police say they found the 3-month-old boy, Jaylen Taylor, unconscious in the arms of his mother Sunnia Carberry.

They checked the baby's vital signs, opened his mouth to clear any possible obstructions and then started chest compressions.

Police say the baby began breathing on his own a short time later.

Emergency workers rushed the baby to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
