New York, NY (WIBX) - New York State's performance when it comes to fourth grade Math is not favorable. According to a report by the National Assessment of Educational Progress, the numbers have dropped below the national average.

The NAEP study found that the average scores for fourth graders in the Empire State dropped from 241 to 238 in 2009, signifying the first time since 1992 that the state's performance in fourth grade Math has dropped below the national average.
