The New york State Department of Financial Services has its Mobile Command Center in Herkimer today and tomorrow.

Herkimer County Residents that have suffered flood damage are encouraged to visit the DFS on Green Street in Herkimer, in front of the Herkimer Village Hall.

The DFS is in the area to help flood victims with insurance related issues such as understanding your insurance policies, filing claims and dealing with insurers.

William and Virginia Jaquish, who own the Creekside Mobile Park on Route 168 in Mohawk say their business is completely destroyed. The couple visited the DFS mobile unit Wednesday to review their insurance policy and take the first steps in recovering at least a portion of their losses.

The Jaquish family isn't sure how much of their business will be covered by insurance and are hoping like many others for help from the federal government. The biggest question they have is whether or not anyone will get assistance from FEMA.

The Mobile Command Center will be in Herkimer again tomorrow July 11, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. to consult Herkimer County residents. Victims of the flooding can also call the DFS Disaster Hotline at 1-800-339-1759.
