Herkimer County residents affected by the recent flooding are getting more financial help this week.

Governor Cuomo announced today that the State's Department of Financial Services' Mobile Command Center will be dispatched to Herkimer tomorrow and Thursday to assist homeowners and businesses with insurance claims related to flood damage.

DFS representatives will be on hand to walk impacted families through dealing with insurance companies and what to do while waiting for claims to be answered.

Governor Cuomo has outlined a list of resources and advice that will be available for victims of flood damage both at the Mobile Command Center and by calling the DFS disaster hotline at 1-800-339-1759. The toll-free number is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.

The Mobile Command Center will be at Herkimer Village Hall at 120 Green Street in Herkimer from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The DFS Mobile Command Center will be at other affected locations in the coming days. Check back on WIBX950.com for updates.
