New York State Commissioner of Homeland Security Jerome Hauer toured Utica College's new Northeast Cyber Forensics Center today. The NCFC is a new digital forensics lab that collaborates with local and regional law enforcement on digital forensic cases and also provides private services to businesses, corporations and law firms.

In addition to private forensics services, the NCFC features other areas of specialty, including training, law enforcement collaboration, small business incubation, research and development and forensic tool evaluation.

Future initiatives for the NCFC at Utica College include training sessions to help law enforcement and IT professionals properly collect digital evidence, as well as small business incubation, to help innovators and entrepreneurs nurture ideas that can positively impact the local economy.
