NYS Thruway Offers Free Coffee On New Year’s Eve

If you're traveling the New York State Thruway tonight, don't forget to stop and get some free coffee.

The Thruway Authority is continuing its tradition of giving out coffee at all 27 service areas as a way to encourage drivers to take safety breaks.

You can get your free coffee starting at 11 p.m. tonight until 7 a.m. on New Year's Day.

Thruway director Thomas Madison is urging drivers to stay sober, avoid drowsy driving and use caution not just during the holidays, but year-round.
