NYSP: Speed A Factor In Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Town of Vernon, NY (WIBX) - A motorist is dead and state police suspect that he was speeding on his motorcycle while traveling eastbound on Barr Road in the Town of Vernon. The accident was discovered by a passerby who saw, 30-year-old Van M. Williams lying on the ground near his crashed motorcycle.

Officials say Williams, of Creek Road in Oneida, was ejected from his 2006 Suzuki when he attempted to exist the shoulder at an unsafe speed. They say he struck two trees and landed about 15-feet from his motorcycle. The investigation is still on-going.
