The New York State United Teachers union is taking the 'Opt Out' campaign to a new level by funding a robo-call enticing parents and teachers to opt out of  New York State testing next week because of the connection to teacher evaluations.

The call features NYSUT president Karen McGee explaining the urgency for parents to avoid the tests and implies that it is a teacher's obligation when it comes to testing and directs teachers to their website.

State testing is scheduled for next week in New York and the State Education Department is currently mulling over what percentage of the state test scores should be applied to teacher evaluations.

NYSUT is the only teachers union in New York promoting the 'Opt Out' campaign.
