Official results of the autopsy are expected today in the death of Cirque du Soleil acrobat Sarah Guillot-Guyard.

Members of the cast and crew, as well as the audience that was in attendance, have said that they are devastated by the first fatality in the company's twenty-nine year history.

Guillot-Guyard has been with the production of "Ka" since 2006, and was a veteran performer.  The 31-year old French-born mother of two appeared to have fallen into an open pit below stage level while being lifted on a safety wire about fifty feet above the stage.  Witnesses said that at first they thought that the fall was part of the show until screams and crying were heard.

It is not believed that Guillot-Guyard slipped out of her safety harness, although an investigation as to exactly what happened may take several months.  The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating, and Cirque du Soleil representatives are said to be cooperating completely.
