Officials: 1 Dead In Crash On Route 33

STAFFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Police in western New York are investigating a crash involving a tractor-trailer that left one person dead.

WGRZ-TV reports the crash happened Thursday afternoon on Route 33 in Stafford. Authorities say a car driven by 54-year-old Tracy Carpenter, of Oakfield, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a tractor-trailer.

Carpenter was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn't injured.

Genesee County Sheriff's deputies say weather wasn't a factor in the crash. An investigation continues.
