SOUTH BRISTOL, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities in western New York are investigating a house fire in which two people were found dead.

The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reports crews responded to a South Bristol home on Thursday night. According to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office, the blaze was contained in about 45 minutes.

Police say the victims' remains were recovered about three hours after the fire started.

They were not immediately identified.

The cause of the fire is unclear. An investigation continues.
