Carpenter was careful to say that although alcohol was a factor in her death, they are still not certain whether it was an accident or suicide, and the investigation will remain open pending further investigation.
Catherine Koestner, a teacher at Proctor High School in Utica, died August 25, 2012 in Old Forge, New York.
