CICERO, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a man whose burned remains were found outside Syracuse last year had been strangled, stabbed and dismembered with a chain saw.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (http://bit.ly/2jFpLIy ) that court documents filed by Onondaga County prosecutors say the man was killed in December after being lured to 28-year-old Corey Slattery's apartment in the town of Cicero.

Authorities say Slattery later dismembered the victim's body and attempted to bury the remains, but when that didn't work he tried burning them.

Slattery has been charged with second-degree murder. A 48-year-old woman has been charged with concealment of a human corpse.

The victim hasn't been officially identified yet, but police have told the parents of 29-year-old Aikeem Hudgins of Syracuse that they're investigating his death. Forensic tests on the remains are being conducted.
