OHSWA To Hold Earth Day Events

Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority is holding a number of events on Saturday to celebrate Earth Day.

Director of Recycling David Lupinski says residents can purchase backyard compost bins and rainwater collection barrels at the Authority's Recycling Center on Leland Avenue in Utica from 10:00 to 2:00.

The Authority, in conjunction with CONFIDATA, will be also be offering free shredding of confidential and personal papers for Oneida and Herkimer County residents at the recycling center.

And you can drop off old medication and pharmaceuticals at the Authority's Household Hazardous Waste Facilty on Saturday as well.
