A Utica man is facing charges following a domestic dispute and stabbing at the Applewood Community in New Hartford.

New Hartford Police say Michael Hill, 36, was visiting the home of his estranged wife, Loree Larkin-Hill, 45, when the two started arguing about their relationship.

Hill allegedly put his hand around his wife's throat and pushed her up against the refrigerator, choking her.

Larkin-Hill then grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Hill in the right shoulder, after which he squeezed and twisted her hand until she dropped it.

Hill was found soon after at St. Elizabeth's Hospital receiving treatment. Larkin-Hill also went to the hospital for a broken hand and minor wound to her leg caused during the struggle for the knife.

Hill is charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Assault. Other charges may be filed as the investigation progresses.
